Last Thursday, we had the absolute privilege of being invited to one of the most prestigious sunglasses events on the calender; Carrera Sunglasses‘ Ignition Night! Held at the stunning House of St. Barnabas in Soho, London this event was designed to celebrate all things Carrera with celebrities, models and retailers all queuing up to get their own piece of the action. The venue was laid out perfectly with each room representing a different branch of Carrera Sunglasses, from the multi-coloured and vibrant Craze collection right through to the slightly more subdued and classy Muse collection. This incredibly well thought out floor plan gave us all the opportunity to see each of the ranges individually rather than lumped together and it really gave you an idea of the depth of thought involved in their production process.
But this event was not just about selling sunglasses, it was in fact one of the best parties London had seen that week! Previously held in Milan and New York, the Carrera Ignition Night really knew how to rock with DJ sets from Pixie Geldof, Amber Le Bon and Nick Grimshaw all helping to set the place alight. You couldn’t find a wall in the building that wasn’t brightly illuminated with the Carrera Sunglasses logo and their amazing ’step and repeat’ wall showcased their models brandishing their new sunglasses! Some of the world’s most well known models also made an appearance including renowned D&G model David Gandy. But it wasn’t just models, celebrities such as Mikita Oliver and Tamara Beckwith graced us with their presence and couldn’t speak more highly about the new Carrera Sunglasses collections! Taking a trip upstairs you could find an amazing pathway into Carrera history with glass topped tables framing some of Carrera’s greatest ever hits; this included their strong links with aviation and of course their racing prowess.
Each of the frames in the new collections are laced with history and combined with the projected future of the brand; whether it be with their classic cool Carrera 6000 Sunglasses or the slightly more ‘out-there’ Carrera 6008 Sunglasses you were sure to find a pair you adored.
